Lives on the border
Dir. Lucía Gajá
Vidas en la orilla | 2025 | Mexico | 110 min.
Synopsis
This film portrays the failures of the U.S. criminal justice system and the tragic consequences of a wrongful conviction. Two intertwined narratives reveal what Rosa Estela Olvera—a Mexican migrant and the protagonist of My Life Inside (2007)—endured during 18 years in prison: on one hand, a psycho-emotional exploration of the loneliness of confinement; on the other, the long and arduous legal battle to clear her name.
