Synopsis

Amid the possibilities offered by the maquiladoras and the border, a group of men from the marginalized neighborhoods of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, creates a form of dance that breaks with the stereotypes of their environment and with what is expected of their lives. Between festivity and the sacred, these men shape their identities and their ways of relating to one another, revealing what dance offers them in the making of their lives.

Leonor Maldonado captures the desires, interests, and dreams of Matamoros’s dancers in a unique and subtle way. There are no controversial images or sequences.
