Based on Patricia Highsmith’s personal writings, as well as testimonies from her family and some of her lovers, Loving Highsmith reveals little-known facets of the life and work of the celebrated suspense novelist. Over the course of her life, she published more than 22 works, many of which were adapted for the screen. Among the best known are Strangers on a Train, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and Carol. The latter, partially autobiographical, was the first lesbian novel with a happy ending published in the United States.
