Synopsis

Federico is a renowned thanatologist, known for his sensitivity and dedication. For years, he has accompanied terminally ill patients and their families, becoming a guide and a source of comfort for those facing pain, uncertainty, and the proximity of death. His vocation has made him a witness to countless farewells, but also to unexpected reconciliations with life.

Everything changes when an irrefutable diagnosis forces him to stop accompanying others and become the protagonist himself. With terminal cancer that advances relentlessly, Federico must face his own death and put into practice, within himself, the philosophy he has shared with others for years.

As he grapples with physical pain and fear, he must also confront the emotional resistance of his family, who cannot imagine his departure. The Last Journey thus becomes an intimate reflection on the art of letting go and holding on—a journey toward death that, paradoxically, becomes a luminous affirmation of life.
